On Easter Sunday, Kinetic will begin a brand new series entitled, The Altar; the key to a godly marriage.
Every marriage begins at the Altar, but few remain there. Within hours of the nuptials, an epic battle of the will begins; each spouse fighting for their own needs, wishes and desires. It is a conflict that threatens to destroy marriages and slaughter relationships. In his book The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller explains, “Self-centeredness is a havoc-wreaking problem in many marriages and it is the ever-present enemy of every marriage.”
Most marriages don’t want the Altar, but they need it.
In biblical times, the Altar was the place where sacrifices were made. It was a bloody piece of furniture that represented both death and life to those who used it; the spot where life was given and received.
Your altar is your home. It is the primary place where you are called on to selflessly sacrifice and give up your life, time, wishes and desires. Think about it. The altar is the antithesis of self-centeredness; the two cannot coexist. Your relationship needs the altar.
It’s time for marriages return to The Altar and experience the key to a godly marriage.
Below is Chris Woolard’s first kinetic typography video for The Altar…enjoy.
