Sunkist Anyone

The Church / August 7, 2007

Today I had the opportunity to meet with Kinetic’s new UNCC Street Team. (I’m not sure if they have an official name, but that’s what I call them) For the past month, they have been creating a strategy for inviting the students of UNCC to Kinetic Church.

Here’s one of their strategies: give stuff away. Everybody likes free stuff. Maybe give away soda.

Which is funny, because I have a friend who traffics in soda. So, I called him and asked him to donate 2 pallets of soda toward their cause. Honestly, we where secretly hoping for an energy drink or maybe even a Starbucks Doubleshots donation. So, Brandon Hoffman and I rented a small U-Haul for the pick-up and drove to the drop-point. When we arrived, we learned that the donation was 1 pallet of Pineapple Sunkist and 1 pallet of Strawberry Sunkist. (hardly a doubleshot)

We loaded the U-Haul and drove the 2500+ sodas to the office and unloaded them to a second floor office in 104 degree weather.

I sure hope college students like Pineapple Sunkist.
