Mind Mapping

Creativity / July 2, 2008

Recently, I’ve started mind mapping as part of my message prep. It has been such a freeing experience to artistically create my messages without boundaries. Here are my mind maps from my doubt sermon at last week’s Junior High Camp.

And yes, I know that there is software available for this stuff…I just prefer ink. (I feel more creative with a sharpie in my hand)

I tried it today working on a sermon in a couple of weeks. It is a cool way of putting things together. Definitely feels more creative with pen and paper (marker and white board in my case), but it is easier to read on the computer. I downloaded a mind map program for my computer, kind of like it but definitely prefer writing it out.

I mindmap my prayers… it helps me stay on track and focus specific days on specific prayer topics. I am the software guy though 🙂
