IKEA Checkin Mod

Over the past couple of years, our Kinetic Kids check-in table has lost some piazza. Okay, I’ll admit it. Our kids check-in is a hot mess. After endless weeks of use, the time came to retire our worn out tiki hut check-in.

That meant we had to come up with a new solution that had a clean look and doubled as portable storage. We spent several months baffled about what to do when we decided to do and this amazing IKEA mod.

We started with the Ikea Norden Occasional Table:


Next, we added casters, stainless steel to the front and sides and grommets for the computer power cords on top. Here are a few photos that I took with my iPhone 3G. (the lighting isn’t the greatest for photos, but I think you’ll get the idea)

The backside of the new check-in station has an amazing amount of storage. Check it out:

 

The final step in our IKEA check-in mod is to add a logo to the front of the table. Here is what that will look like when we finally have received the sticker:
