Floored by Playa

The Church / May 8, 2008

This past Monday afternoon, I grabbed my phone to see that somehow I had compiled 10 voicemail messages that were now screaming for my attention. After a deep breath, I decided to commit the next 15 minutes of my life to wading through a liturgy of endless demands.

About 5 minutes into my living hell, I heard a message from Terry Sweeney, the Pastor of Playa Christian Church in Los Angeles, CA. His message FLOORED ME! (not to mention how it changed my crapy attitude)

Below is that message. (Just be sure to listen to the entire thing)

this is AWESOME. Amazing that this issue is still spreading and God is still moving in people’s hearts to respond. THANK YOU PLAYA CHRISTIAN CHURCH. What an example you are to us! To remember to respond when this happens to someone else.

THREE THINGS:

1. That’s totally boss!
2. I trust you called him back…
3. I must admit that before I heard the message, I was under the impression that his church was called PLAY-A, as in, “don’t be a play-a.” Keep in mind, I live in the city of Atlanta, you know, “where the playas play.”

Peace,
DEREK
