Tonight, I had a headache. Anne was at a neighborhood bunco party at it was my job to get the kids bathed and in bed. After getting everybody to bed, I was finally able to sit down to work on my computer.
At about 10:00 PM, there was a knock at the door. I had Anne’s housekey, so I knew that it was her.
I opened the door to let her in and was totally shocked to see what had just happened to our house. We had been forked! On top of that, there were a ton of encouraging notes to us. It was the strangest mix of shock, awe and gratitude.
I’m gonna wait until morning to de-fork the yard. I’d like to see what the Home Owners Association has to say about this one.
If you forked me…thank you. This was an amazingly creative way to love us!
Here are a few pics from this raid of kindness:

I forked a yard once in high school, but it wasn’t because I liked the person very much. I like this adaptation much better. Well done.
FORKIN’ A!
Thanks for forking us whomever you are. The kids had a great time deforking the yard and Noah and Chloe had a huge competition to see who could collect the most forks. I think Noah won, but Chloe got bonus points for gathering signs, so she may have won. Alex tired of it quickly and after seeing Gideon totter precariously thru the yard with a fork in each hand and hundreds in the yard, I decided maybe mommy was wrong to let him down, he should watch and not join in the fun. Some weird “Mom” thing about wanting him to keep his eyeballs. Thanks again!
