I’ve never liked congregational meetings. I have nightmares of somebody standing up front and try lead the meeting with a flubbed up church-version of Robert’s Rules of Order. And pictures of old men screaming about “someone moving the communion table” are forever etched in my mind. It’s the best picture of anarchy that I know.
So, naturally, I understand people’s dread when they hear about our “Scoop Meetings” and am surprised when a eager group of Kinetic fantastics agree to stay to understand how our church is really doing. (from an underbelly perspective)
As sadistic as this might sound, Sunday’s meeting was a thrill for me. Ever since Kinetic Church begin, every Scoop Meeting has been peppered with gloom-and-doom. Sunday’s meeting was entirely different. I honestly feel like we are really beginning to have some traction and it’s and honor to talk about how Kinetic is impacting Charlotte! (if you missed the meeting, you missed a good one!)
It’s going to be interesting to see how God provides over this next year. Next challenge: explode through the 200 barrier. (it’s coming…very quickly) .
