A Starbucks Parable

Creativity / November 6, 2008

Just ran across this video today and thought that it was valuable enough to post here. I thought that it definitely has a pointed message for the church. Unfortunately, the message may hit too close to home. What do you think?

Is there any direct application for the church?

What about kid’s coffee day, and jesus java flannel graphs, and the first, second and third verses of bringing in the java? Oh, I could go all day on this one. This is funny! And Lord knows I likes my Starbucks!

That is funny and not so funny at the same time. Definitely stuff to think about especially with us starting our new campus here in Gurnee (Chicago) this weekend.

Great Video! It’s all about loving people. More church or more Jesus?

You know what struck me most about this video? And perhaps it reflects my shallow inner fashionista, but I just had to take note of the prerequisite Hawaiian shirt that all male church planters above a certain age wear. I know, shallow, but the next time you are at church planting conference, take count. You will be amazed at the number!
