Believe it or not, our children’s ministry isn’t technically suppose to work.
For the past year, our Kinetic Kid’s program has been working without a ministry head. And ministry by committee usually never works. Yet, our volunteers seem to create a fun and safe environment for our children week after week without even a hiccup. You have no idea how unbelievable that is! There have been nights when I was secretly afraid that our children’s ministry might suddenly implode. And it probably would have, if it weren’t for the teamwork and tenacity of three remarkable volunteers (Shannon McKay, Anne Milam and Kristin Taylor) who were willing to make it happen whatever the cost. That’s nothing less than amazing!
This past week we finally ushered in a new era for Kinetic Kid’s: Diane Cleland began serving as Kinetic’s part-time children’s minister! Diane has been with us from the beginning and her educational background coupled with her love for children will undoubtedly take our program to the next level.
This Friday, I met with Diane for the first time to discuss her plans for the ministry. Three hours and four pages later I began to realize that Diane is going to do extraordinary things for Kinetic. (as soon as I get a picture of Diane, I’ll post it)
Hang on Kinetic…God is blessing our church and it’s going to be a crazy ride!
